21ST Mar 2008- GOOD FRIDAY
Depart Nairobi with the morning shuttle bus which takes approximately two and a half hours to get to the Kenya/Tanzania Namanga border. You are dropped at the Kenya immigrations office for clearance. The border is crossed by foot and proceed to the Tanzania immigrations office for clearance too. You later proceed on with this interesting drive with the same shuttle bus. Two hours later you are dropped at the impala hotel(4star) you are booked on bed and breakfast basis.
Halfway between Cape town and Cairo- situated in the shadow of mount Meru- lies Arusha, an attractive town that is both a centre of agriculture and the main safari base to the northern parks.
22nd Mar 2008-Saturday
You are left alone to explore this town formerly an old trading post for the local waArusha and waMeru tribes. It hosts first-class hotels, restaurants, shops, pubs, clubs, safari companies and the Arusha International Conference Centre, built to be the administrative headquarters of the short lived East Africa Community. The people of Tanzania are so friendly and worm such that you can never fail to notice.
Overnight at the Impala hotel where you are booked on bed and breakfast basis.
23rd Mar 2008-Sunday
After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro conservation area on 4x4 vehicles with picnic lunch. To call the crater simply one outstanding feature in the vast Ngorongoro Conservation area diminishes its stature for there is nothing which one can compare it. It is one of the wonders of the world. You will rise up to 3700m (12136 ft) above sea level at the crater rim for photographs and later descend to the floor of the crater for a gamedrive. The crater is known for elephants, cheetah, lion, rhino, flamingos and many more.
Later on climb out of the crater after emptying your picnic boxes heading for Arusha. You arrive at the Impala hotel late in the evening. Bed and breakfast.
24th Mar 2008-Easter Monday
After breakfast depart Arusha with the morning or afternoon shuttle for Nairobi through Namanga with memorable moments and lots of stories and photos to share with friends and family who did not join you on this trip.
